What's New at Drummond Street

DSRC is expanding its Programs and Services. This includes the establishment of a Family Mental Health Support Service to support families who have a family member with a mental illness, as well as families who are vulnerable to a member developing mental illness.

 Our new Family Mental Health Support Service will aim to:

• ensure individuals with mental health issues are assisted to navigate the mental health service system and access suitable supports  

• ensure family members of individuals with mental illness receive support and assistance in managing the impact of this experience  

• ensure children and young people identified as being at risk of developing mental illness receive appropriate prevention and early intervention services

• increase access to mental health services and other support services for groups at risk and with low access to services, including young people, Indigenous and CaLD clients.
  
  
  
  

This service will integrate with other programs and services within the organisation, and will bring specialist experience in assessing and responding to mental illness within individual children, young people and adults, and experience in understanding and responding to the needs of couples and families impacted by mental illness. We therefore require enthusiastic, experienced and qualified staff for 2 year contracts (these positions may be extended subject to funding). Positions may be full- or part-time depending upon skills mix, which will include therapeutic counselling, case-management, groupwork and team leader skills.
